PASSWP’s Pennsylvania School Social Worker/Home & School Visitor of the Year Award is presented annually to a member in good standing currently employed in either role in a school in Pennsylvania

Nominations can be received at any time but an announcement of a deadline usually is made in the spring/summer of the award year.   

The decision is based on how the eligible candidate:-

 

  • reflects School Social Work/Home and School Visitor values.
  • demonstrates dedication to the role of Home and School Visitor/School Social Worker;  including any innovative and creative programs, projects and practices in working with students, parents and/or faculty.
  • demonstrates a commitment to the development of the role School Social Worker/ Home and School Visitor; including any accomplishments, achievements and contributions to the field.

 

The recipient of the award may be referred to as either “Social Worker of the Year” or “Home and School Visitor of The Year”   or both, depending upon their job title and certifications.
