\nDescription:

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Position\n\nShift Details\n

\n
• Monday through Friday, between 7am and 6pm (8 hour shifts, start/end times can vary)\n
• No weekends, no call, no holidays\n

\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n

\n
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders\n
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation\n
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)\n
• Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained\n
• Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care\n
• Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization\n
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results\n
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure\n
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results\n
• Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards\n
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate\n
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms\n

\n\nJob Requirements\n

\n
• Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)\n
• NYS License\n
• BLS (American Heart Association)\n
• 2 years Experience\n

\n\nPreferred Experience\n

\n
• CT certified and has PE/CT experience\n
