Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are in need of experienced Ciena 6500 Optical Systems Installers for temporary assignments to support large-scale mission-critical telecom infrastructure projects. As a Ciena 6500 Optical Systems Installer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and testing of Ciena 6500 equipment and related optical systems nationwide.

Requirements

• Installation, racking, and cabling of Ciena 6500 and other Ciena optical equipment according to engineering specifications.
  
• Performing fiber optic cable management.
  
• Conducting system turn-up, provisioning, and basic troubleshooting.
  
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and installation documentation.
  
• Using OTDR, power meters, and other fiber testing equipment to verify installations.
  
• Adhering to all safety and quality standards on job sites.
  
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other field technicians.
  
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in installing Ciena 6500 or similar optical transport equipment.
  
• Strong knowledge of optical networking preferred (DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH, ROADM).
  
• Proficiency in fiber optic cable installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  
• Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
  
• Ciena certifications or manufacturer training is a plus.
  
• Hands-on experience in installing Ciena 6500 or similar optical transport equipment.
• Knowledge of optical networking (DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH, ROADM) preferred.
• Proficiency in fiber optic cable installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
