The maintenance mechanic’s prime responsibility is the maintenance, repair, and the continuous improvement of all baking, packaging, process machinery and systems, including site auxiliary equipment, in a safe efficient manner.

Industrial Mechanic

Location: 2201 West South Branch Blvd, Oak Creek, WI 53154

Hire Type: Full-Time

Shift Options:

2nd Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM CT

3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM CT

Pay Range: $36.00 – $44.13 per hour (+ shift premium if applicable)

Incentive Bonus: Eligible for 10% annual incentive bonus beginning December 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety and food-safety standards, including OSHA, GMPs, Lockout/Tagout, and SQF requirements.
• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) with the goal of reducing unscheduled downtime.
• Complete assigned work orders within specified timelines.
• Support equipment changeovers, line startups, and troubleshoot as needed.
• Identify required parts, manage spare parts inventory, and assist with reorder lists.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Assist coworkers with maintenance-related transactions and support team initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining automated manufacturing systems (preferred).
• Knowledge of compressed air systems, boilers, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret and follow written/verbal instructions with accuracy.
• Strong communication skills in a fast-paced production setting.
• Technical training or certification in mechanics/electrical systems preferred.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Associate degree or technical school certification in mechanics/electrical fields a plus.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience accepted.

Ability to work 12-hour shifts, lift 50+ pounds, stand, climb, and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time, perform repetitive motions, and work in an environment with varying temperatures and humidity.

Indoors (66% to 100% of the time). Frequently outdoors (33% to 66% of the time), all conditions, often for extended periods. Occasional exposure (1% to 33% of time) to fumes, solvents, adhesives, etc. Frequent need (33% to 66% of the time) to work in awkward and confining positions. Exposed to controlled temperatures (heat and cold) found within standard industrial bakery environments.
