GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The General Manager is responsible for the achievement of the plant objectives for the manufacturing operation consistent with maintaining productivity, quality and health and safety standards.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to the President.
Directly reporting to this incumbent is:

· Fabrication Manager
· Customer Accounts Manager
· CNC Manager
· Shipping Manager
· Program Manager
· Die Shop Manager
· Maintenance Manager
· HR Manager
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· 5 to 10 years of experience as a General Manager/Operations Manager in a manufacturing environment is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, engineering or other discipline related to the service is required.
- Work experience in aluminum extrusion, automotive industry or a related industry is preferred.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the operations of the Kentucky plant, which includes developing and implementing plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet production targets.
- Manage operation team to help reach KPI goals and MRT Performance
- Oversee production schedule and the allocation of material, manpower and equipment resources within the facility, while ensuring operational budget is adhered to.
- Plans and directs the production operation through subordinates, applying their knowledge of production techniques, capacities and human resource skills with the goal of improved productivity, quality and cost reduction.
- Shall initiate and drive cost saving proposals and improvement in processes and productivity.
- Ensure products are produced within the tolerance established by and with the assistance of the quality department. The incumbent shall be a firm believer in the ISO quality standards.
- The incumbent shall ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained and shall comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Assist HR in recruitment.
- Complete the necessary paperwork as required for their areas of responsibility.
- Effectively communicate with his/her subordinates as well as peers to improve employee knowledge and human relations.
- Shall recommend training requirements for subordinates and hourly personnel.
- Will be part of the budgetary team in establishing the annual operating budget for his/her areas of responsibility.
- Direct, coach and mentor staff to ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Develop a positive labor relations and health and safety culture.
- Ensure the well-being of all employees under his/her direction.
- Be responsible for safety performance in the assigned areas:
o Take action to correct substandard acts or conditions
o Observe and monitor employee safety
o Ensure the OSHA standards are met
o Use safety processes in all work and according to Dajcor Health & Safety, Environmental and Housekeeping

WORKING CONDITIONS:
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
- 50% of time spent in the plant environment
- 50% of time spent in an office environment
HAZARDS:
· May be exposed, on a limited basis, to hazardous elements while on the plant floor
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
· Some time spent walking or standing
· Majority of time spent at desk on office computer systems
· Some opportunities for handling parts
