SUMMARY

The Estimator role focuses on delivering precise and efficient cost evaluations in a dynamic job shop environment. This position is integral in developing organized, accurate estimates for materials, labor, and production time to meet customer requirements and timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze blueprints, proposals, and technical documents to determine labor, material, and time requirements for custom fabrication projects.
• Assess estimated production schedules and required man-hours based on customer specifications and industry norms.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for in-house labor and materials.
• Keep labor rates and material cost data current to ensure accuracy of quotes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to obtain and maintain competitive pricing and availability information.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications from multiple industries for quote preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2–4 years of experience in a job shop environment with a concentration in fabrication, welding, or machining.
• Educational background combined with applicable work experience will be considered.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support both internal teams and customer relations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and general computer literacy.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Customer-focused with a strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal direction.
• Prior hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist or Welder/Fitter in a medium-to-heavy fabrication setting is a plus.
