This role involves providing comprehensive support to the anesthesia team in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, assisting clinicians during procedures, operating specialized equipment, participating in training programs, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the anesthesia department.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, including equipment preparation, monitoring placement, and ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
- Communicating with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and other anesthesia technologists.
- Assisting with difficult intubations and central line catheter placement.
- Operating the cell-saver machine and tracking lab reports.
- Participating in various surgical specialties, including cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma cases.
- Performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of anesthesia equipment.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of in-service training programs for anesthesia technologists.
- Performing anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting (e.g., infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators).
- Setting up rooms between cases and providing end-of-day equipment cleanup.
- Providing backup support to the shift supervisor.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- BLS certification.
- Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Four-year college education with related technical training, or a two-year college education with related technical training and two years of experience.
- Certification by the registry of the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body.
Special Considerations:
- On-call coverage is required.
- Weekend and holiday work may be required.
- Call backs as needed.
Scheduling:
- Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST.
- 17-week assignment.
