Water/Wastewater Project Manager

Location: Multiple offices in Michigan | Salary Range: $115,000+

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Lead strategic marketing and pursuit efforts for water/wastewater projects
  • Identify and develop new client relationships and market opportunities
  • Oversee proposal development, budgeting, and contract negotiations
  • Contribute to long-term business planning and market expansion

Project Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and team performance
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular project reviews and performance evaluations

Project Execution

  • Oversee engineering managers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Set and monitor project goals, deliverables, and quality benchmarks
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
  • Manage financial performance, invoicing, and change orders

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and develop junior staff and project engineers
  • Support training, performance feedback, and career advancement
  • Participate in recruiting and team-building initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Proven success in project delivery and client development
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or PMP certification
  • Experience with large-scale municipal or utility projects
  • Familiarity with regional and federal regulatory frameworks
