Mechanic – Truck and Heavy Equipment Fleet (Full-Time)

Location: Hampden, MA

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay + Overtime

Schedule: Full-time, 40+ hours/week (more during busy season)

We’re a growing, fast-paced tree service and forestry company in Hampden, MA looking for an experienced  Mechanic to keep our fleet of trucks and equipment maintained and repaired. If you’re skilled with heavy-duty vehicles and enjoy solving mechanical challenges, we’d love to have you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on Class 7 & 8 trucks
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Maintain and repair tree care and construction equipment (chippers, skid steers, grinders, etc.)
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles stay in compliance
• Keep detailed service records and manage parts inventory
• Work with operators and crew leads to schedule and prioritize repairs
• Occasionally assist in the field when urgent equipment support is needed

Requirements:

• Solid experience working on  Class 7 & 8 trucks (required)
• Basic diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently
• Equipment repair experience (skid steers, loaders, chippers, etc.) is a  plus
• Valid driver’s license (CDL is a  plus , but not required)
• Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card
• Must be reliable, organized, and self-motivated
• Willing to work 40+ hours per week, with overtime available during peak season
