• Location: On-site in Pennington, NJ (Central New Jersey)\n
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,990 – $2,130\n
• Hourly Pay Rate: $88.35\n
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)\n
• Hours per Week: 36\n
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:30am–8:00pm or 8:00am–8:30pm)\n
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend\n
• Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday per season\n
• Dress Code: Business attire required; scrubs permitted only with a white scrub jacket\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred\n
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program\n
• Active New Jersey RN license (Registered Nurse)\n
• Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience\n
• 2-3 years of experience in utilization review, denial management, or quality management (must be able to step in with minimal training)\n
• Strong knowledge of Utilization Review (UR) guidelines; MCG preferred\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and UR software\n
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for collaboration with physicians, payers, and care teams\n
• Preferred certifications: CPHQ, CCM, ACM, or CPUR\n

\n\nUtilization Review Nurse Responsibilities\n

• Conduct concurrent review of patient charts with a focus on level-of-care determinations from the Emergency Department (ED gatekeeping)\n
• Communicate with payers regarding admissions, continued stays, and denials\n
• Document utilization review activities, barriers, and care progression\n
• Identify strategies to reduce avoidable days and unnecessary resource utilization\n
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate utilization of resources\n
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CMS regulations and payer guidelines\n
• Participate in daily huddles, care team meetings, and performance improvement initiatives\n
