Job Description

T Job Summary:

The Plant Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and managing all supply chain activities within the plant, including procurement, production planning, inventory control, logistics, and shipping/receiving. This role ensures that materials and products flow efficiently and cost-effectively from suppliers to production and through to customer delivery, supporting the plant’s operational and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain function within the plant, aligning supply chain strategy with business goals.
  • Oversee material planning and production scheduling to ensure optimal inventory levels and on-time delivery.
  • Manage procurement activities for direct and indirect materials; ensure supplier performance and cost competitiveness.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to minimize waste and reduce working capital.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to support production continuity.
  • Drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes using LEAN principles and KPIs.
  • Supervise warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Identify risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation plans for supply disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and metrics (e.g., OTIF, inventory turns, supplier OTD).
  • Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering accountability and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (MBA or APICS certification preferred).
  • 5–10 years of supply chain or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in inventory control, demand planning, and supplier management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
