PAY RATE: $20.36 - $28.78 (USD) PER HOUR

JOB SUMMARY:

The Streets III Winter Seasonal Snow Removal position removes snow from across the city to provide enhanced community safety throughout the winter season.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Operates a variety of specialized equipment such front-end loader, trucks, de-icing, snow hauling, plowing, sweeping and cleaning streets, in a safe, courteous, and professional manner.
• Assists with asphalt paving/patching, striping/ traffic markings.
• Installs signposts, street signs, checks for maintenance and replaces broken signs as needed.
• Places temporary traffic control devices including barricades, lane cones and warning signs to channel traffic.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must be over the age of 18
• Must maintain a DOT physical card with the ability to obtain/ maintain a Utah Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of heavy/ snow removal equipment operation
• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment
• Ability to work alone and make sound decisions

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Shift work; (4) 10-hour shifts per week
• Working in inclement weather conditions and extreme temperatures
• Periodic exposure to stressful situations.
