Job Description
Metal Arts, LLC in Wichita, Kansas, is seeking a Detailing Checker and Outsource Detailing Manager with extensive experience in Steel Detailing, Checking, and Outsource Management. This position reports to the director of Detailing.
Our detailers maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy to ensure our end-product is of the highest quality. We utilize Tekla Structures for our detailing software. The ideal Detailing Checker and Outsource Detailing Manager will be someone with at least 6 years of experience in this field, and preferably 6 plus. We are looking for a candidate who can begin contributing immediately. Extensive experience with Tekla is required.
No team member at Metal Arts is above any duties. We are a team, and we all help with whatever tasks may be needed.
Metal Arts is hiring for in-person positions and will consider remote positions for exceptional candidates.
Responsibilities - Manage Checking of Models and Drawings for the entire detailing team
- Check Models prior to drawings being created
- Participate in launch meetings for new projects
- Participate in model reviews prior to drawings and submittal for approval
- Review mark ups and work with detailers to ensure the proper updates are made
- Support the Detailing Team by contributing to the creation of RFI's
- Work with internal QC to provide direction on any necessary updates per Shop Requirements
- Work with project managers during the review process to ensure timely project deliveries
- Help update drawings whenever necessary, if the team is overloaded with work
- Help the team meet deadlines for released shop drawings to ensure steel is fabricated on time
Preferred Qualifications - 6+ years of experience with Detailing, Tekla, Checking, and Management of outsourced detailing
- Ability to locate on-site in Wichita, KS (not a requirement to apply, exceptions may be made for strong candidates)

- Experience in broad areas of construction: Commercial, Civic, Private, Industrial
- Experience with Structural AND Miscellaneous steel detailing
