Senior Machine Learning Researcher – Biological Foundation Models

Location: Boston, MA (onsite, full-time)

Compensation: $250k+ base salary - RSUs

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Researcher to develop large-scale models for single-cell and multi-omics data. You will design transformer-based architectures, explore diffusion and generative approaches, and help build the technical platform that powers next-generation therapies. This is an opportunity to apply state-of-the-art ML to some of the most complex data in science — with direct impact on future clinical applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize foundation-scale models for single-cell and high-dimensional biological datasets
• Collaborate with biologists to ensure outputs are interpretable and biologically meaningful
• Explore novel architectures (transformers, diffusion, multimodal models) for biological representation learning
• Develop scalable, distributed pipelines for trillion-token-scale training
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other ML researchers

Qualifications

• 6+ years in machine learning, deep learning, and large-scale data analysis (biological data experience preferred)
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD strongly preferred) in AI, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field
• Proven track record with transformer-based architectures and large-scale ML systems
• Experience driving research from prototype through to production
• Passion for applying advanced ML to advance biology and healthcare
