Hourly Pay: $80 - $85
Weekly Pay: $3,400.00 - $3,612.50
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering radiation therapy to patients in accordance with physician prescriptions and within the regulatory guidelines of the National Cancer Institute. The role requires expertise in operating high-voltage, state-of-the-art radiation therapy equipment, ensuring patient safety, and providing compassionate care throughout treatment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver prescribed radiation treatments accurately, following physician instructions and safety protocols
Prepare, operate, and maintain radiotherapy equipment (including Co-60, Linear Accelerator, Simulator, etc.)
Perform pre-treatment procedures such as simulation for tumor localization, contouring, and treatment planning
Capture and evaluate radiographic films to confirm treatment volumes
Coordinate patient schedules and appointments for treatment sessions
Monitor and recognize radiation reactions, providing appropriate care and patient instructions
Maintain accurate treatment records, port films, and departmental documentation
Ensure compliance with departmental policies and regulatory standards
Actively participate in departmental in-service and educational programs
Collaborate with clinical staff to support high-quality patient care
Associate’s Degree (AAS) or completion of an AMA-accredited Radiation Therapy program
RRT License (with active NYS License)
Minimum of 3–5 years of related experience
Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance
