Plant Manager | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $143,000 - $194,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all daily plant operations to ensure production targets are met efficiently and safely.
• Develop and implement strategic production plans, budgets, and operational policies.
• Manage, mentor, and develop plant staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure product quality standards are consistently met and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize processes and reduce costs.
• Oversee plant maintenance and ensure optimal performance of machinery and equipment.
• Manage plant budget, optimize resource allocation, and achieve financial objectives.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven leadership and management experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience with P&L management, budgeting, and cost control.
• Expertise in safety regulations, quality management systems (e.g., ISO), and compliance.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team towards operational excellence.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• MBA or Master's degree in a related engineering or business field
• Experience managing operations in a unionized manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with enterprise-level ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
