Job Description
The City of Maryland Heights is seeking applicants for the position of Personal Trainer to work at the Community Center. The Personal Trainer will organize, supervise and implement personal training for specific clients. The position requires agility and the ability to perform physical activity for the duration of the class.
The Personal Trainer works under the general supervision of a Recreation Assistant and/or Recreation Specialist.
The starting pay for this position is $22.00 per hour DOE.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct initial consultation with prospective clients and introduce them to the Community Center
Create an upbeat, inviting, engaging, motivating environment
Maintain client records and scheduling
Train clients by implementing customized workouts
Perform ongoing evaluations of client's performance
Maintain a clean and organized fitness center
Promote a positive image of the Parks and Recreation Department
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
College degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology preferred
Nationally recognized certification(s) - NASM, ACE, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA
CPR certification (required)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
At least 18 years of age.
