Xstar Education is a community-based afterschool learning center located in Chino Hills, CA. Founded by educators who value both academic excellence and cultural diversity, we specialize in ELA, Math, and Chinese language enrichment for students in Grades 1–8.
Our program combines strong academic support with a warm, bilingual environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and creativity. Many of our students come from bilingual families, and we take pride in helping every child grow through engaging, well-balanced learning experiences.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ELA & Math Teacher to join our afterschool program. This part-time position focuses on helping students from Grades 1–8 strengthen their academic skills in a supportive and engaging learning environment.
The ideal candidate has prior experience teaching ELA and/or Math, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to design interactive, age-appropriate lessons. Each class runs 30–45 minutes, and teachers are expected to conduct monthly assessments to track student progress.

Responsibilities
Teach small groups of students (Grades 1–8) in ELA and Math
Create and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons
Foster a supportive and positive learning environment
Use interactive activities such as reading games, group discussions, and problem-solving exercises
Track and assess student progress through monthly evaluations
Communicate effectively with parents and program staff
Maintain reliability and consistency in attendance
Qualifications
Previous experience teaching ELA or Math to elementary or middle school students preferred
Strong classroom management and lesson-planning skills
Teaching credential or education-related background a plus
Bilingual ability (english or Spanish) a strong advantage
Patient, responsible, and enthusiastic about teaching
Commitment to long-term, stable employment
