Job Title: Laboratory Director (Manager, Laboratory Operations) $50 to $53 PER HOUR

• Client: Atlantic Health System

• Location: Pompton Plains, New Jersey, 07444

• Start Date: September 8, 2025

• Work Hours: 37.5 hours/week | 7.5 hours/day | 5 days/week

• Schedule: Monday& Friday, on-site with on-call/remote availability.

Education & Certifications

• Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a physical/chemical/biological science

• ASCP certification (or equivalent)

• Must meet CAP requirements for a laboratory supervisor

• Preferred:

• Master Degree (MBA or MHA)

Must-Have Requirements

• At least 5 years’ experience in high-complexity testing (CLIA/CAP-regulated environment)

• Minimum 6 years clinical lab experience , including 3+ years in a supervisory/leadership role

• Strong knowledge of quality management systems

• Proven skills in lab operations , staff supervision , and regulatory compliance

• Must be able to provide remote consultation when off-site

Job Duties & Responsibilities

The Laboratory Director will oversee all aspects of lab operations at Chilton Medical Center, including:

• Managing the Core Lab, Blood Bank, Phlebotomy, and Point of Care testing units
• Supervising lab staff: section supervisors, lead technologists, and technologists
• Implementing and evaluating quality control , productivity benchmarks, and lab workflows
• Managing department budgets , setting objectives, and improving cost-efficiency
• Ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP , and other regulatory standards
• Acting as the liaison between lab teams and hospital administration
• Providing mentorship , performance evaluations, and coaching to team members
• Overseeing projects , instrument maintenance, policies, and interdepartmental communication
• Resolving operational issues in collaboration with pathologists, directors, and support teams
