Lab Assistant II at Labcorp summary:

Provides hands-on support in a bioanalytical laboratory, performing equipment maintenance, calibrations, reagent preparation, inventory management, and general lab housekeeping. Ensures compliance with safety policies and SOPs, may train junior staff, and participates in process improvement activities. Requires 1-2 years lab experience or an associate degree; part- and full-time benefits eligible with pay range $20-$22/hr.

Job Summary:

This position independently provides support to the bioanalytical laboratory and facilitates the successful conduct of studies.

Essential Job Duties:

• Displays good working knowledge of routine use and maintenance of equipment relevant to area
• Performs equipment verifications and calibrations (pipettes, balances, pH meters, plate readers, etc).
• Prepares reagents, buffers, and other study related solutions as needed.
• Provides general lab cleaning, expired reagent monitoring, and glassware washing.
• Manages the inventory, ordering, E-Workbook registration, storage, organization, and disposal of laboratory supplies. These may include critical reagents, chemicals, consumables, and matrix. 
• Performs test article / reference material weighings, if appropriate.
• Performs freezer and refrigerator maintenance, oversees organization.
• Maintains water systems, performs readings, or sends samples out for testing.
• Provides ideas, supports, and participates in process improvement initiatives.
• Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment. Demonstrates understanding of Health and Safety compliance by ensuring that policies/SOPs and training are up to date.
• May train or assist less experienced staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience (Minimum Required):

• 1-2 years of laboratory experience or Associate Degree in related field.

Education/Qualifications/Certifications and Licenses

• High School diploma / educated to A-level or equivalent plus 1-2 years of laboratory experience or Associate Degree in related field

Pay Range: $20-$22 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
