Job Title: Mold Set-Up Technician

Location: Fountain Inn, South Carolina

Pay: $40/hr + $45/day per diem

Hotel accommodations paid for

Travel reimbursement provided

Plenty of overtime available

Position Summary:

We are actively seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Mold Set-Up Technician to join our injection molding team. This role is critical in setting up, aligning, and securing molds into injection molding machines while ensuring all connections and safety procedures are executed to standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate mold-handling equipment (on-site cane certification provided)
• Set and secure molds using bolts, toe clamps, and other approved methods
• Properly tighten all fasteners using a torque wrench per manufacturer specifications (strict adherence required due to recent safety incidents)
• Safely swing and position steel molds into machines
• Utilize magnetic plates as needed during mold installation
• Connect utilities including:
• Electrical
• Water
• Hydraulic systems
• Conduct inspections for correct mold alignment and safety before machine start-up
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams during mold changes and troubleshooting
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout protocols

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (technical or vocational training preferred)
• 5 years of Previous experience in mold setup or plastic injection molding highly preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hand tool proficiency, especially with torque wrenches
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic, water, and electrical systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in fast-paced, industrial settings
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety

Work Environment:

• Frequent exposure to loud machinery, tools, and temperature variations
• Standing, lifting, and bending for extended periods required
• Overtime and shift work may be required
