Job Description

Overview of Position:

UNIQLO Global Creative Lab NY is looking for a skilled Graphic Designer who will work closely with our Art Directors/ Creative team to develop visual assets for in-store visuals, digital/social content, advertising, and more. Beyond creative production, the role also requires supporting the larger Global Creative Lab team to develop concepts, design systems, and forward-thinking creative for seasonal campaigns, new store launches, collaborations, and other special projects.

Skills & Functions:

  • A strong attention to detail with precision.
  • Strong typography skills.
  • Experience in print design, in addition to digital.
  • Deep understanding of print production and mechanical design; to create final print ready files.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • An unmistakable talent for graphic design. You have a portfolio that demonstrates impeccable design fundamentals, skill, and taste on a wide variety of projects. Your work must elevate the project, no matter the client
  • Experience with designing for brands. Your work should not only demonstrate strong visuals, but a strategic sense of design thinking specifically for brand and commercial applications.
  • Digital-first sensibilities. Your work should show the ability to design for contemporary customer touchpoints such as social media, e-commerce, branded content, and other digital platforms.
  • A deep understanding of culture. You have a strong sense of the culture that surrounds us. You are deeply plugged into contemporary sensibilities in fashion, art, advertising, design, pop culture, etc.

  • A strong understanding or (if not passion for) the Uniqlo brand.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Flexible to work a retail schedule and to accommodate international meetings based on business need.

Qualifications:

  • A diverse portfolio that shows a range of digital and print work.
  • 4-6 years of design experience; preferably at a creative agency or in-house.
  • Strong knowledge of art direction, photography, film, graphic design, typography and the full Adobe Creative
  • Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Interest in photography and art direction.
  • Editing and motion experience is a bonus.
  • A connection to trends in fashion, art, music and contemporary culture.
  • BA strongly preferred in Graphic Design or related field.
