Position Summary

The General Sales Manager (GM) at Mercedes-Benz of Northern Arizona is responsible for leading the new and pre-owned sales operations of the dealership. This role drives revenue growth, manages sales teams, and ensures customer satisfaction in line with Mercedes-Benz standards. The GSM is accountable for achieving sales targets, maximizing profitability, and maintaining brand integrity. Maintaining alignment with the high standards of LAPIS and the Mercedes-Benz brand is paramount. This role requires a dynamic self-starting leader who would excel managing the variable operations of the dealership. At least 3 years of experience as a GSM with Mercedes-Benz or an equivalent luxury (Porsche, Audi, BMW, Land Rover, Lexus) brand and a strong focus on customer satisfaction and team management are minimum prerequisites. An ideal candidate should be confident to present their past sales success as a part of the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all new and pre-owned vehicle sales activities.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans.
  • Ensure the dealership is maximizing available dealer incentive programs.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing sales team.
  • Monitor sales processes to ensure compliance with manufacturer and dealership policies.
  • Maintain Mercedes-Benz certification standards and ensure staff meet ongoing training requirements.
  • Analyze market trends, inventory levels, and competitor activity to optimize performance.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop campaigns that drive showroom traffic.
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with the Fixed Operations and F&I departments to improve overall dealership profitability.
  • Report sales figures and forecasts to the Dealer Principal / General Manager.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Mercedes-Benz USA and financial partners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of GSM experience within the luxury automotive industry, preferably with Mercedes-Benz.
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of generating strong per-deal profitability.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a deep understanding of luxury client expectations.
  • Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams toward common goals.
  • Knowledge of Mercedes-Benz's products, technology (NetStar), and corporate standards is highly desirable.
  • Proficient with CDK systems.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Automotive Management, or a related field (preferred).
