Job Description

Position: Foster Care Licensing Specialist

Location: Baltimore, MD

Shifts/Schedule: Core EST hours

Must Haves:

  • Experience working in child welfare and/or case management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfort with public speaking and an ability to effectively implement training and program presentations in front of groups
  • Excellent organizational and time management practices
  • Ability to manage competing demands and multiple timelines across several ongoing projects
  • Cultural sensitivity and an ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions (using the UC Portal, Microsoft Office, and any internal e-case management software)
  • Valid Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance and a positive driving record to transport minors in own vehicle if required
  • Ability to pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.

What Flexibility in Requirements:

  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish
  • LBSW or LMSW

Background Screening Requirements:

  • Obtain a negative TB Test yearly.
  • Willing and able to obtain FBI fingerprint check every 5 years.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and MVA check free of major infractions for the last 7 years.
  • Ability to travel to home visits and other service agencies to serve the client, either by own vehicle or by public transportation (train, plane, etc.).
  • Availability of a vehicle that meets safety and mechanical requirements for travel within an assigned radius.
  • Willing and able to clear a criminal background check for the past 7 years.

Day-To-Day:

One of our clients is looking for a Foster Care Licensing Specialist. They are responsible for cultivating a robust network of strong foster families to host unaccompanied children. This role requires the development and implementation of a foster family recruitment program and ongoing management of the licensing/re-licensing foster home process. - Schedule, develop, and implement activities to maintain a diverse pool of foster families. - Guide prospective foster families through the application and licensure process, ensuring compliance with ORR and state requirements. - Oversee orientation and training for foster families. - Manage retention efforts by facilitating supportive activities for existing foster families. - Maintain detailed case files, conduct home visits, respond to emergencies, and develop informational materials for foster parents.

Compensation:

$73,000 to $78,000 per year annual salary.
