The Field Service Engineer II for Leica Biosystems is responsible for providing technical service and support on equipment within the company with the objectives of minimizing customer downtime and generating revenue opportunities. This FIELD position is part of the Service Organization located in San Francisco, CA and will be fully REMOTE. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives. You will be a part of the Field Service Team and report to the Regional Field Service Manager responsible for troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair needs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Provide installation support, maintenance, modification and/or repair on 1-2 groups of mechanical, electromechanical, electronic and/or refrigeration instruments. + Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner to follow ISO, FDA, and Leica policies. + Actively support the sale of service contracts, assist sales representatives & service team members with system configurations/upgrades, and provide feedback on ways to improve financial performance to generate service revenue The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of diagnostics and repair experience OR Associates degree with 3+ years of technical diagnostics and repair experience OR 5+ years of equivalent technical diagnostics and repair work experience. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: + This position requires up to 90% flying and/or driving travel, which include overnight stays. + Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. + Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Networking/IT system upgrades + Prior Field Service Engineering experience, d iagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments At Leica Biosystems we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce. The hourly range for this role is $39.00 - $45.00 an hour . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
