Transcon is a heavy civil general contractor and subcontractor that specializes in electrical infrastructure, highway ITS systems, signalization, and civil construction.

Role Description

The Estimator role is part of a team responsible for preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for public works construction projects and participate in design optimization sessions for our alternative procurement clients. A strong candidate will have the following characteristics and capabilities:

• Capable of thoroughly reviewing and understanding of project documents
• Have a strong understanding of site operations and logistics ensuring a comprehensive approach to the project
• Assess project risks
• Participate in design review sessions to help our clients optimize their projects and provide updated estimates throughout design evolution
• Have a strong knowledge of the local market including subcontractors and suppliers
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure a smooth transition after award
• Support projects with change order pricing
• The Estimator will participate in estimate review meetings critiquing and contributing to others estimates
• Lead detailed review sessions explaining estimate strategy with the senior management team
• Have a strong combination of both electrical and general civil construction knowledge

This is a full-time on-site role for an Estimator located in our project office near Seattle, WA.

Qualified candidates will have a strong mix of the following attributes:

• 5+ years experience estimating for general contractor or electrical subcontractor
• Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering, or equivalent experience
• Experience with local project owners including WSDOT, Sound Transit, City of Seattle and King County
• Experience with HeavyBid estimating software, Bluebeam and MS Project
• Experience with Design-Build delivery method a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
