Overview:
Our client, a global leader in advanced medical technologies, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager with a strong background in radiation safety to join their growing team. This individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the radiation protection program at a highly regulated production and research facility.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in radiation or physical sciences OR
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of professional radiation safety experience OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates comparable skills and knowledge
- Certification from the American Board of Health Physics or National Registry of Radiation Protection Technicians is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of NRC regulations and health physics principles
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple priorities
- Project management experience a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the health physics team and oversee daily operational activities
- Ensure proper implementation of the radiation protection program
- Manage staffing and department resource scheduling
- Collaborate with internal departments on compliance and safety issues
- Evaluate facility modifications for radiological impacts
- Provide radiation safety consulting and guidance across departments
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage
- Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement Radiological Work Permits for non-routine tasks
- Serve as subject matter expert and lead radiation safety projects
- Recommend and drive corrective actions based on audit findings
