Electrical Industrial Engineer

Location: Hagerstown, MD

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Electrical Industrial Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in bringing advanced railcar designs into reality by ensuring their efficient manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the direct manager and production managers to validate all steps of the manufacturing process during the development phase.
  • Define work breakdown structures , bills of materials (BOMs) , and logistical process flows to support efficient production.
  • Identify and evaluate the need for specialized manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Develop manufacturing plans aligned with the site's production capacity and operational goals.
  • Create detailed macro and micro process plans , translating design documentation into actionable instructions for shop floor operators.
  • Utilize ERP systems (preferably SAP ) to structure manufacturing BOMs, process sheets, and routings that support optimal manufacturing practices.
  • Conduct concurrent engineering design reviews to ensure product manufacturability and design-for-manufacture principles.
  • Provide ongoing support to production teams to drive process improvements and boost productivity using Lean Manufacturing principles and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of relevant industrial engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in 2D CAD software (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Familiarity with SAP systems is preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in electrical engineering or related fields.
  • Solid understanding of harness manufacturing methods, tools, and processes (prior experience in harness manufacturing is highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required .
