Estimator – General Contractor

Our client, a well-established General Contractor based in Dallas, is seeking a talented Estimator to join their team.

This contractor specializes in ground-up commercial projects across K-12, Higher Education, Municipal, Public Sector, and Government Infrastructure. The Role:

As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in the preconstruction process, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and value in every bid.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for ground-up commercial projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope and requirements.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and provide cost-saving solutions.
• Work closely with Project Managers and leadership teams to develop proposals and bid strategies.
• Assist in preparing and presenting bid packages to clients.
• Track historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy.
• Maintain strong subcontractor and supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing.
• Stay current with market trends, material costs, and construction methods.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Estimator with a General Contractor.
• Proven track record on ground-up commercial projects in K-12, higher education, municipal, or government sectors.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools.
