Cloud Managed Service Engineer – AWS / Azure

Location: Orange County, California, (On-Site)

Employment: Full-time

No Relocation or Visa Sponsorship Provided

About the Role - Position Description

Megazone Cloud is seeking a Cloud Managed Services Engineer to join our team in Orange County, CA, supporting customers across North America. As a key Megazone Cloud’s Managed Services Delivery Team member, you will be responsible for proactive cloud platform management, incident response, and technical escalations to ensure operational excellence for our clients' AWS and Azure environments.

This is a full-time, at-will position, and candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities, but not limited to-

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Incident Management
  • Support clients' AWS and Azure cloud infrastructures, handling technical escalations from the monitoring team.
  • Analyze and resolve incidents related to compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide off-hours support as needed.

  • Database Administration & Optimization
  • Manage cloud-based databases, such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure PaaS DB, and on-prem solutions like Oracle or open-source databases.
  • Perform database tuning, security management, and backup strategies.

  • Client Communication & Technical Support
  • Interact with clients to identify and troubleshoot cloud-related issues.
  • Provide clear technical explanations in business-friendly terms.
  • Track and update ticket status and escalate cases when necessary.

  • Cloud Security, Compliance & Cost Optimization
  • Configure and manage cloud security policies, identity access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance controls.
  • Optimize cloud environments for cost efficiency and scalability.

  • Process Improvement & Documentation
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client environments and operational procedures.
  • Promote best practices to enhance Managed Services processes
  • Conduct weekly/monthly client reviews to assess system performance, outstanding issues, and potential improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Operations:
  • Minimum 2 years managing on-premise infrastructure or deployment projects.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing or deploying AWS or Azure Cloud environments.
  • Database Management Experience : Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure PaaS DB, or traditional databases like Oracle or MySQL
  • System Administration & Cloud Security:
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Windows administration, firewalls, load balancers, and networking fundamentals
  • Basic understanding of cloud security & compliance controls.
  • Technical Troubleshooting & Client Support :
  • Strong ability to analyze and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems and providing client-facing technical support.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for incident response.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure or equivalent sys admin experience with on-prem environments.
  • Experience in a 24x7 Managed Services, Hosting, or NOC environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and ITSM tools for Incident & Change Management.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Scripting proficiency (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and vendor coordination experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic cloud environment with multiple priorities.
  • Korean language proficiency (Preferred but not required).
