Associate Field Engineer
Location: Charlotte North Carolina
Initial Pay Rate (During Training): $22.00 – $25.00/hour
Travel Requirement: Up to 85% (Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record)
Position Summary
Join a leading electronics company as an Associate Field Engineer, responsible for installing, servicing, and supporting advanced machine tool systems. This role includes hands-on work with both metal forming and metal cutting equipment, customer training, and collaboration with sales teams. Extensive travel is required to support customer sites and ensure optimal machine performance.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Service - Install and demonstrate new machine tools at customer sites, including setup, tooling, programming, and operational checks.
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems during and after the warranty period.
- Assist customers with operational and programming issues.
- Support post-warranty maintenance and service needs.
- Recommend tools and parts for repairs and upgrades.
Training & Development - Assist Sr Field Service Engineers for on-the-job training
- Attend training, seminars, and conferences to enhance technical knowledge.
- Train customer on machine operation, tooling, and maintenance procedures.
Sales Support - Collaborate with sales teams by identifying machine tool and accessory needs.
- Report sales opportunities, assist with machine application and cost estimation.
Qualifications - Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and laser systems.
- Familiarity with CNC equipment (FANUC a plus).
- Prior experience with machine tools preferred.
- Technical or military training in electronics a big plus.
Education & Experience - Associate degree in related engineering field preferred.
- Technical school or military certification accepted.
- 1–4 years of experience in machine tool maintenance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Estimated Min Rate : $45760.00
Estimated Max Rate : $52000.00
