Job Title: Acquisition Manager – Mergers & Acquisitions

Location: Bloomfield, CT

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

We are looking for a driven and strategic Acquisition Manager to join our team in Bloomfield, CT , with a specific focus on acquiring and affiliating independent financial advisory firms . This is a high-impact role for someone passionate about growth, relationship building, and helping independent advisors transition their practice into a larger, well-resourced platform.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the independent financial services space , and experience sourcing, engaging, and closing acquisition or affiliation deals with firm owners and advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue acquisition, affiliation, and partnership opportunities with independent financial advisory firms .
  • Conduct strategic cold outreach via phone, email, and networking to connect with firm principals, advisors, and broker-dealer reps.
  • Build relationships with advisors considering succession, retirement, or business growth opportunities through M&A or strategic partnership.
  • Qualify prospects and assess firm fit based on assets under management (AUM), client demographics, and strategic alignment.
  • Lead conversations around deal structure, valuation expectations, and integration support.
  • Partner with internal due diligence, legal, and onboarding teams to move deals from interest to execution.
  • Track activities and progress in CRM tools, managing a robust acquisition pipeline.

Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of experience in financial services business development, advisor recruitment, M&A, or financial practice transitions.
  • Proven ability to build rapport with independent advisors and firm owners.
  • Strong understanding of the independent financial advisory landscape, including RIA models, OSJ structures, and broker-dealer affiliations.
  • Confident in conducting cold outreach and navigating long sales cycles with high-value prospects.
  • Skilled in negotiation and closing, with a consultative approach to relationship building.
  • Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with RIA aggregators, roll-up firms, broker-dealers, or succession planning platforms.
  • Familiarity with AUM-based valuation models and financial advisor transition planning.
