Job Description

Location : Hybrid – Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding areas

Schedule : Full-Time | Hybrid

Compensation : $34.00–$41.00/hr (Estimated Annual Salary: $70,000–$85,000)

We are hiring an entry-level Actuarial Analyst to join a structured professional development program. This role is designed to help analysts grow toward credentialing while applying actuarial and statistical techniques across multiple business areas. You will contribute to projects involving pricing, trend analysis, reserving, medical cost evaluation, predictive modeling, and other studies that support key financial and operational decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and execute queries to pull accurate datasets with minimal supervision.
  • Produce studies, reports, and presentations that support management decisions, incorporating feedback to refine deliverables.
  • Review work for accuracy and consistency, verifying inputs, formulas, and calculations against established controls.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, a willingness to learn, and openness to feedback to accelerate professional growth.
  • Understand how your work fits into team objectives and organizational priorities, contributing ideas to improve processes.
  • Manage time and resources effectively, delivering recurring projects with little oversight and keeping leaders informed of progress.
  • Communicate with colleagues and stakeholders in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships, adapt to feedback, and volunteer for additional responsibilities when able.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least one actuarial exam completed.
  • Some actuarial-related experience is required.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of actuarial concepts and methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to balance accuracy, timeliness, and project scope while managing multiple tasks.

Work Environment: This is a hybrid role requiring employees to be on-site at designated office locations 3 days per week. Occasional travel, up to 25%, may be required. The role involves light physical activity, including lifting up to 10 lbs. on a regular basis.
