About Us

Dynasty’s United Youth Association (DUYA) is committed to empowering students through academic support, mentorship, and skill-building. We are seeking passionate and dedicated Academic Tutors to join our team and make a lasting impact in the San Fernando Valley community.

• Must be 21 years or older
• Graduate, undergraduate, or previous graduate student
• Ability to work 20-25 hours per week in person
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance (required for travel between sites-- one site per day)
• Bilingual preferred but not required

• Provide learning support in English/Math for students 1-3 years behind grade level
• Facilitate small group tutoring sessions in person at DUYA's partnering school sites in the San Fernando Valley (one elementary (K-4) and middle school (5-8))
• Provide students with feedback and motivation using positive reinforcement techniques
• Create lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with student needs and learning goals
• Recommend learning resources (textbooks, software, tools) to enhance student success
• Participate in weekly team meetings, professional development, and staff training sessions
• Collaborate with staff and the organization to track and increase student performance
• Maintain progress reports and administer pre- and post-assessments

• 6–12 months of tutoring or academic support experience in a classroom or learning setting
• Strong communication and cultural competence skills
• Comfortable working independently and within groups
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and online research tools
• Friendly, outgoing, and proactive character
• Ability to use initiative while also knowing when to seek support
