1st Shift Supervisor
Marshall, TX
The 1st Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating workflow, maintaining quality control, and supporting a safe and organized work environment.
Ensure the plant meets production goals and customer demands.
Verify adequate staffing levels and proper task assignments.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed for production, packaging, and shipping.
Ensure all personnel properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures.
Assist with training for operations, safety, and job-specific tasks.
Direct the workforce in system operation, packaging, and warehouse functions.
Communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, and management to ensure smooth operations.
Supervise the loading and unloading of trucks and verify related documentation.
Confirm incoming shipments, maintain daily inventory counts, and complete production reports.
Ensure all paperwork and reports are completed accurately and on time.
Support monthly inventory cycles as required.
Discuss disciplinary matters with management as needed.
Implement new policies and procedures as directed.
Verify payroll time details and monitor attendance.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment for all plant personnel.
Support implementation of safety policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives.
Ensure all employees have the proper PPE and use it as required.
Participate in cleanup plans, safety assessments, and audits.
Contribute to a culture of continuous safety improvement.
Develop and support initiatives to reduce costs and improve plant efficiency.
Work additional shifts or overtime as needed to meet production and customer demands.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, general labor, or packaging.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Physical capability to bend, squat, and stoop.
